In September my husband and I are going to have our first baby. We decided not to find out the sex of the baby. So we decided on both a boy and a girl name. What do you think?
For a boy:
Remus Henry Burchy
Remus is after the beloved Harry Potter character. We are both fans and we both like the name.
For a girl:
Elladora Rose Burchy
We will call her Ella.

Remus is a very handsome name, but I'm kind of afraid that it'll be dated in a few years. I got the Harry Potter connotation right off, and I don't know if I would want to grow up being known as "the kid with the Harry Potter themed name". If you really love Harry Potter that much, I would choose a name thats a little more neutral, for instance, George, Arthur, James or even Harry. Remus is a little too strong in the Harry Potter association. Nevertheless, Henry is a fantastic middle name that he could always use if he chose to.
Elladora Rose is stunning and I love the nickname Ella. Its a great choice!

It is good that you both agree on what you like, but like the other responses you should really think hard about the names. I have a difficult name and found myself being teased at school. I always use a nickname at work and for friends. Remus is really going to get teased. Elladora could also have issues if not in school then in her professional career. Ella is very pretty though and short. It is not as little girl like Elladora is. These are both names that you really need to think about. Ask yourself, what rhymes with the name? What is the nickname that someone may call the child based on the name you choose? How will they feel about the name when they choose their career path? I wish you all the best in this endeavor of picking out a name. By the way - you are going to have a girl. :)

I love the Harry potter books Deathly Hallows was great! Okay Remus Henry I like it! Remus is an uncommon name and it goes together nicely with Henry. I really like the name Elladora Ella is such a cute nickname too! Good job with the names! Good luck with the baby!

OK maybe go with something else but hey you and your hubby decided so I guess there ain't nothing I can do about it but think how the boys gonna be possible humiliated and teased becuz of his name...just warning you though i hope you put him in a school with majority harry potter fans.

You must be able to imagine the horrible nicknames that young classmates in middle school will give a boy whose name is Remus. Not even going to go there. Ella is great but Elladora sounds made up.

i think the boy name would have better flow if it was switched to Henry Remus Burchy
Elladora Rose is nice but seems a bit much maybe just Ella Dora or Ella Rose but it is nice to start with

I agree with most of the previous responses...Remus is not so hot and ella is cute, but not elladora. My husband and I just had a baby boy 3 weeks ago and we named him Ryder James, if he was a girl his name would have been Rylee Abigail.

I like the girls name, and I like Remus...just not sure about Henry and Burchy both ending in the e sound. Maybe something like Remus Matthew or Remus Charles?

I'm a 30 year old Harry Potter addict. I even did my first child's nursery in a Harry Potter theme. However, Remus is a downright ugly name. Please don't make child hate you for naming him something so terrible!
BTW- Elladora is a decent tribute to Nymphadora, but even she hated her name. Come one, dude. She made everyone call her Tonks for Pete's sake!
You can do better than that. I believe in you!!!
