this reminds me of a rather funny but telling incident i had many years ago. while shopping in the local mall with my children, one of my boys pointed out another boy in the mall walking with another, same age bracket & gender. we walked over to the two boys & while talking to them, i asked if they were friends. one of the boys said, no that the other lad was his brother. i then asked the boys, can't you be both? i mean, why can't siblings also be best friends? well, i have three dogs. they qualify, hands down, as not only my best friends but , of course, family members. dogs and other pets, tend not to judge, watch what you watch on tv, will eat what you eat & are just so glad to be with you, what's not to like (with them). when the world kicks you in the butt, your furry buddies would never! p.s and by the way: the two boys in the mall both agreed that, yes, brothers could indeed be both - friend & relative. it took both seconds to process the question and if you were good at noticing things, you would've seen the eyes rolling to the back of the head, the info going in & the responce coming out. it was, as stated, a very telling experience. life is full of these. ain't it great when you notice?

Our dogs are a part of the family. When my dad's not around, the dogs all go by the table at dinner. And of course I give them bites of whatever we're eating, which my mom doesn't mind at all. I haven't yet found a food that my German Shepard doesn't like.

Cat person here. She is a very spoiled member of my family. She only tolerates me because she can't open her own can of food. She has me well trained.

I've only had my 1st dog fur 9 months, but she's already family. My other one we have we've had for 5 months, but she got along really well with us. I'd count her as family

I don't have any pets anymore. We killed our dog... Haha, jk.
We actually had to put him down. :(
My mom's alergic to dogs, cats, and even birds, so we don't have any pets. Although I'm kind of wanting a fish right about now.
But I've always wanted a monkey! Really, no joke... lol

I most certainly do. All five of my dogs I consider my family. I'd do anything for them as I would my children.
