edit: while driving into werk this morning, it struck me:
"CONTRAST" ...
between iris pigmentation and the black of the pupil
MORE contrast in blue-eyes => perception of "piercing"
qed
in brown eyes, there is less difference in light-intensity
between the iris and pupil .. less contrast acts as a perceptual
"mellowing agent"
or that makes sense to me anyway
/*****/
brown eyes are 'kinder' ??
I don't know if dispositions correlate with eye-color,
but that's an intriguiing question, and "yes" now that you
mention it, it's always "blue" or "grey".
and Van Morrison never had a big hit with "Blue-eyed Girl"
/**************************************************************/
Hey where did we go, days when the rains came?
Down in the hollow, playin' a new game
Laughing and a running hey, hey! Skipping and a jumping
In the misty morning fog with our hearts a thumpin' and you ...
My brown eyed girl
You, my brown eyed girl
Whatever happened to Tuesday and so slow?
Going down the old mine with a transistor radio
Standing in the sunlight laughing, hiding behind a rainbow's wall
Slipping and sliding, baby, all along the water fall, with you ...
My brown eyed girl
You, my brown eyed girl
Do you remember when we used to sing?
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
... la te da
So hard to find my way, now that I'm all on my own
I saw you just the other day, my, how you have grown!
Cast my memory back there, Lord, sometimes I'm overcome thinking 'bout
Making love in the green grass, behind the stadium with you ...
My brown eyed girl
You, my brown eyed girl
Do you remember when we used to sing?
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
/*********************************************************/
since "Brown-eyed Girl" is almost certainly the
"most-played" song for bands in bars, casinos,
dance-places by those things called "local bands"
EVERYbody knows how to play it
(if they're in a band that plays at local gigs)
most-played
most-requested
reason?
correlation?

Brown isn't plain. Brown is just dark so it's hard to see the piercing.

Because brown eyes (though beautiful) are ordinary and don't really stand out.
