It looks green to us because the green light is reflected back. It absorbs everything else.

I agree with the first poster. The wavelengths that are most useful to chlorophyll are the red and violet. Those are absorbed the most. Green is reflected.

chlorophyll absorbs light in the red and blue spectra most effectively. It reflects light from the green spectrum which gives leaves their green appearance.
