With a doubt there is no other friend I have ever had who could begin to compete with this man. His integrity, decency, and honor are above reproach, I can count on him for anything. He is the kind of friend you would be fortunate to have.

I have around 4 gay friends in real life, I can think of them off the top of my head. All my other guy friends are straight, and they don't have a problem with me being gay. I still for the most part talk/act/do the same activities as them.

I have many straight male friends who love to hang out with me for a number of reasons, the main one being is that we are friends & they are not effected in any way by me being gay, they like me for who i am not what.I do have mostly gay friends & my straight friends are not daunted by being in the company of so many gay people as it is offen the case that gay men have alot of straight female friends & this is a bonus for the straight friends, they are not always around me but have the oportunity to converse with straighsingle goodlooking females. It is also true that we do have a flair for dressing, designing & many other talents, for every person that is not discouraged by being in the company of gay people it is one more person that will not grow up to be a homophobic individual. It does'nt always turn out that people look for certain types of people it just happens that you make friends with someone most of the times not knowing if they are gay or not in most cases.

Back in the day, when I was straight... or I guess unaware of my gay.. bi.. whatever it is.. two of my closer friends were gay (one closeted but obvious).. I didn't really see them any different.. If anything, it seemed that they had to prove themselves less than my other male friends...
I found out I was gay... or bi... this year... and all my friends (all straight except those 2) see me exactly the same.. although most don't seem to believe me, but several of them made it very clear that it makes no difference to them..
in the end, peoples are people..

We have a straight mate who is probably one of a few straight guys who spends a lot time hanging out with us.
He gets along with most of the gay guys, of course he has straight mates as well.
I've found him to just be a friendly outgoing sort of guy, he doesn't really care about the sexuality of his friends and gets along with the guys as people irrelevant of their sexuality.
Infact I think thats true of most of the straight friends i have that have gay mates.

I mean.. a person is a person whether their gay or straight they like the same things only thing that may differ would be who they are interested in.. but the benfits... there isn't any really.. it depends on how you take it or if your comfortable having a gay friend.

there is benefit to having diversity amongst your friends in general, not just gay/straight, but along cultural, age, gender and other life experience differences as well. If all your friends were of the same background, you are exposed to a smaller range of perspectives and opinions.

The main benefit would be the same as having any friend. Its the companionship, and the fact that you guys have fun together. Sexual orientation isn't the only characteristic that matters about a person. It is possible to have friends with different orientations than you, just because they are cool people.

I'm gay and have straight male friends...there is no problem...we are friends...the sex is totally a separate issue for us...I don't care who he has sex with..and he doesn't care who I do....We have very similar interests in life.. we can talk to each other.
