I would greatly prefer a hand crank type blower . Being the hillbilly that I am , It`s gotta be cheap ! Anybody got any sugestions on what I could use ?

Many forges used bellow type air supplies.

No offense at all, but certainly labor intensive and possibly inconsistant.

I also applaud SHRESH. This forum has as decen a search situation as the WWW, especially as it relates to same or similar questions asked, yet I suspect it's largely UNUSED?

Without knowing at all the purpose for the forge, but having some farmer knowledge of their purpose in general, why not do the shop vac thing? or a leaf blower? To maintain any temperature high enough to actually FORGE steel, it seems a hand bellows, or one hooked up to a bicycle, might not be so constant.

could you weld a bike pedal to a blower wheel off a A/C unit, and somehow use a piece of duct that the air could blow down toward your coals?
don't relaly know just throwing out some idea

Use exhaust of a shop vac. if you stick with it then get all the little goodies.
