Smile crazy and be perky

Keep your posture straight

Work on your cheers and moves

Cheer from your stomach and dont use a sing-song voice. Every work is solidly and loudly said.

Strong and sharp arms. No spaghetti arms.

Hands should always be in a fist.

Hope I helped!

You are super fortunate to have that gymnastics background. If I had a choice between a good cheerleader with no tumbling and a skilled gymnast who has never cheered before, I would take the gymnast for my team.

Make sure you know how to snap your motions sharp and clean, also look at how cheerleaders jump; it's not always the same as what you do in gymnastics. You also need to know how to yell from your diaphragm. Once you get to try outs wear school colors and a big smile, and just do everything they ask of you with obvious enthusiasm and confidence.

Good luck!

When I tried out for cheerleading, I wasnt the best jumper or Tumbler but I was very loud and had sharp motions. And I made it. Also I looked like I was trying. So good luck!!! And don't forget to smile big and keep your hands on your hips when you are waiting for the judge to call your name. ALWAYS SMILE!!!! That shows the judge that you are a happy person and peppy. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! (:
