I'm fond of Scotland, for the landscape, the rebellious tradition, the rugged individualism and the whiskey, of course. America gets a lot of its character from the Scots. Although I do love the names of things in Wales.

I would say Scotland....probably because of the Castles and Golf. Ireland would be #2 on my list because of the lush green hills (so I've heard) and the fun drinking. I don't care for England because English people are SO RUDE to Americans and I have a somewhat hard time understanding the British accent. With Wales I just don't know much about it.

Definitely Scotland. Americans are just fond of them. We dug Scotty on the orginal Star Trek despite the fact the he always low-balled repair time for the warp engines and never had a spare mylithium crystal. You also have the whiskey guzzling and the cheapness. Secretly, most Americans would like to live like that.

They have given us Golf, Single Malt Scotch, and Adam Smith's free market economics. Have they asked for anything in return ... no. Look how problematic the French or Germans are by comparison.

Then, you have the hilarious accents. I had to translate once for a Scottish guy to Californian English for the Auto Repair shop run by a Vietnamesse guy.

Last, you have the kilts. I bought a MacKenzie kilt and wore to it a work Halloween party. The wife said it made me look fat, but everyone laughed about it for weeks.

Best regards,

Pauly

As I can't choose Eire (and I certainly could have, 90 years ago) I'll pick Wales because so many brilliant actors, singers and poets have come from there. Scotland is beautiful, but the climate is colder than my taste. England and Northern Ireland have much going for them, but I think I could be happy in Wales.

I have Irish heritage so I will go with Ireland. Never been though.

I don't know much about Wales.

When I think of Scotland I think of very heavy accents...

England is cool though I guess, it's the one I know the most about.

Scotland for sure. I really think it the most beautiful area of the UK. The rolling hills of the Lowlands and ruggedness of the Highlands are wonderful. Edinburgh has to be the most beautiful city in the UK too.

Scotland. I love the mountains (climbed Ben Nevis), the lochs, the moors and old castles are beautiful. It's not crowded like England and life moves at a slower pace. Edinburgh is great, there is history, clan names and tartans. I have ancestry there. Plus, I love the windy rainy weather, believe it or not. Scotland is refreshing....

SCOTLAND?! Are you americans mad...Ive visited there, the countryside is uninhabited, while the cities and towns are an embarassment. All the people are rude and crass, more than ENGLAND! Now they're looking for independance, lets see how long they last without us. Scotland really isn't what people think, its stuck in the stone ages with huge prejudice towards English people still present.

Scotland. All the reasons everyone else said, and the accent.

Scotland.....they are better drinkers and are more festive. Although the Irish are a very close second. My family is from Welsh decent and they are too boring.
