The US military expects alQeada to strike back with more attacks in an all out campaign of winning over the anti-war sentiment in this country. Militarily, the US led offensive has severely disrupted their operations and activities. In May and June alone, 26 alQaeda leaders were killed or captured.
The increase in attacks do not not make any sense in a military context - but they make real sense in a public perception context by providing more opposition for this war in this country and eventually causing a shift in policy and an American troop withdrawal - and, hence, an Islamic terrorist victory.
And you're buying into their strategy - hook, line and sinker.

Then the NY Times reported the war was going much better then it was and it looks like we will win.

There has not been any lies told. The truth has been distorted quite a bit. Anytime good news come out of Iraq, the Libs. find a way to twist it around to where the U.S. looks bad. They are having a harder time hiding their hatred for this country everyday. I think the people that are thinkers are starting to see through their plastic image.
