There are a couple of merchant account providers who offer accounts for charity and non profit organizations. Are you thinking of getting one? There are a number of companies that cater to nonprofit organizations to take and process donations online, often for a nominal (3-5%) deduction for processing fees. One such organization is called JustGive - details at http://www.justgive.org/nonprofits?sess=1

If you need a 'merchant' account at your bank, you can discuss the options with the bank representative.
