You are Dead on right a solution to this problem is with Iraqi People themselves.

When India and Pakistan were created back in 1947 and So was Israel in 1948 there were brutal wars which followed but people of the region resolved.

The Question how ever is when asked what are your plans for Iraq, Senator Clinton answers " Very Good question and I do have a plan and once elected I will impelent it" (You Tube Debate).

What is the Plan that you have is the Question I have. Why not present your plan and let's save lives of our soldiers. if your plan is troop withdrawl with in 3 months then Senator why not stop all government function till our troops come home.

The problem here is that the solution must be an Iraqi solution. So we need to just stop asking Americans to come up with. It's their nation. Let them solve their problem. If they want chaos...then so be it. When they get tired of living in hell, they will make the change.

We are only in the way.

Maybe there is no solution. Maybe we need a military presence in the region because of the oil. Keep in mind that many things a modern civilization needs are made from oil. like plastics. Remember also that even if a substitute for oil was found today, it would be years before all the machinery that uses oil could be replaced along with the infrastructure to provide it. Maybe we have to fight for our way of life.

Until we have a defined goal, we cannot come up with a plan to implement and attain that goal.

As for me, I see no benefit to remaining in Iraq when we can accomplish the goal of preventing "bad guys" from taking over just as easily after pulling out as if we stayed in. And with far less cost and loss of American life by pulling out.

Amen brotha! I see this going on with almost every issue, not just the war. The democrats bash bush on how bad hes doing but never say how they would fix it. They just explain why its bad and hope people don't realize they have no idea what to do once they get elected. I wish there was some place to go to see every candidate's opinion on each important issue.
