I sure hope so or I've been wasting an awful lot of time hanging out here. I've fallen in one-sided love at least a half dozen times and kissed the avatars on the screen so many times it's blurred with lipstick.

I know of only one situation and I have to admit that I was very Leary.
A young friend of ours met a guy from England. They communicated
for several years and he asked permission to meet her parents and
ask for her hand in marriage. The whole family approved, they were
married and have a couple of children. As her grandmother put it, "they
are as happy as clams." It can work but please be careful. There are a
lots of scum out there using the internet for one thing and it's not nice.

I think that you can meet someone who you can fall in love with over the Internet.
However, I think that a critical component of that is still getting to know that person face to face in real life too.
As long as you're ultimately getting to know that person in real life, I don't think its that much different than meeting at work, school, through a hobby, blind date, etc.

I know a couple who met that way and they were married about 5 years ago. They are still together.

Yes, that's how my ex-wife found hers! Of the four she declared her undying love for, two of them were Nigerian scammers, so I guess that makes it 50 percent effective!!!
