How can we spread something that you yourself may say that we are not and you yourself say is a bad thing?

Because many americans when asked...if we should be a democracy will rant about how bad democracy is and how we are a republic and that democracy is mob rule.....thats where I got it from.

and its usually republican types who give me that answer. but yet they are the same people who are gung ho about spreading democracy..the very thing they say they think is a bad thing for our country.

Good Question...Those bumbling stooges in Washington have a hard time admitting when they've made some serious mistakes.
Sadly...There are many ordinary citizens afflicted with the same dilemma of denial.
Actually...We have contributed quite generously to mob rule, disorganization, creating havoc and general confusion.

You're absolutely right about our not being willing to accept the facts and conclude that we too can "botch things up". We need to regroup and re-evaluate our motive and method. We have to remain flexible enough to adapt and improvise and if necessary apologize.

Democracy only really works in three situations.

First, when everyone truly has each other's best interests at heart. And usually only on the small scale. Which is also the only time communism works.

Second, when there are strict limits on what the mob....er, majority..... is allowed to do. Which is also the only time socialism works. And which is the model we have in the US.

And third, when everyone is enlightened and tolerant and willing to make decisions that don't harm anyone else. Which is not yet a part of human nature.

Democracy cannot be exported -- it can only be imported.

Where did you come up with that?

7 out of 10 people on your last question supported our republic/democracy. Explaining that America isn't a pure democracy, but a republic. I don't think that's many Americans. And you can judged to well based soley on the people on Y/A.

A Republic is not that different then a democracy; those who want a popular vote victory over an electoral college can change the rules if they can convince the people to do so - guess what - they can't. That sounds pretty democratic to me.

Because the people that say they disagree with democracy, eventually grow up and become the very law makers that are seeking to expand the reach of democracy

i would not say it is a bad thing . however i would say that America is new compared to other countries.so we should not be trying to take over other countries like we did here .
we just killed the chief and are undercover trying to take over so to speak and that is wrong.
