James, one of Reagan's big strengths was that he was a uniter, at least on enough issues. Many of his decisions in hindsight weren't that great. Everyone harps on how Bin Laden cites the withdrawl from Somalia as an example of how Clinton screwed up, but these same people forget to mention that Bin Laden also cites the Lebenon withdrawl by Reagan as another sign of weakness. I actually think both decisions were the right ones, in the light of what they knew at the time, but it's funny that people have such selective memories.

==Edit==
"And every member has enlisted or re-enlisted SINCE the war was going on."

Demonstrably untrue. While retention rates are good, is is a bald face lie to say everyone is re-enlisting. And you are AF Intelligence? I'm guessing you're an E-3/E-4. Nothing wrong with that, but someone with a little more experience would know that telling the entire world this would be unwise, if not an outright OPSEC violation. And no offense to AF intel, but the intel you do is a million miles away from law enforcement and national level all source analysis.

James is right. But people hated reagan a little less than Bush. I've never seen so much hatred for a president and the fact that alot of the hatred stems from "documentaries" and internet conspiracy blogs makes the hatred just as unfounded as the hatred of reagan. I'd love someone to tell me how pulling out of Iraq would HELP solve any of the problems in the world. And keep in mind all you "bring home the troops" people, we have a volunteer military. -I'm part of it- And every member has enlisted or re-enlisted SINCE the war was going on.
Bush is not a devil and I'm afraid after living most of my life overseas and being staioned in numerous overseas location that any american who thinks 80% of the world hates us is VERY incorrect. Oh and 90% of the terrorists hated us BEFORE Bush became president. Now their just all going to Iraq, and guess what, we're killing them. Thats what we "Evil conservatives" would call a GOOD thing.

United in a confusion. Confused about how to dig this country out of all the debt, the world wide hatred, just the colossal mess he's made. We don't know the half of what we have to face when he leaves office, it's being hidden from us.

And as for all this Regan crap? What color is the sky in your world? Are there pixies sprinkling pixie dust? Because where I lived, in the real world, it was a horrible, grit filled time in America.

nope but neither was reagan. And reagan turned out to have done everything right, in hindsight.
e.g.
Reagan said, lets lower taxes across the board because when people have more money in their pockets they spend more, stimulating our economy. Everyone said, naw you're crazy, that wont work, we need to raise taxes. Within about four years his plan had worked exactly like he said. Sound familiar at all?
He wanted to aggressively attack the Soviets via economic and political strategy, funding programs like the "starwars" program and other ICBM detterant systems, knowing that the soviets would try to match us and would ultimately bankrupt themselves. He explained this strategy of Bolstering our strategic forces as well as pushing programs to outspend the soviets. What did the public say?
WARMONGER! OILMONGER! SATAN!!!
And within a few years, the soviet union collapsed effectively stopping (or at least stunting) the spread of communism and the build up of anti-US strategic forces.
But while he pursued these things...he was called an idiot, a nazi, and a war monger...Sound familiar at all?

No, He would better be described as a screw up, I have a trash collector that has better smarts than he has, honestly, at least when he talks I understand what he said, not true with Bush.

Yeah. 80% of the world is united against him.

His attitude tells you:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. they never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." George W. Bush

Do you think that divides or unites the country?

Yes, but DEMOCRATS in their stubborness do not want to unite, they would rather have complete control over the citizens.
