It's a Monarch Butterfly in it's caterpillar stage.. it along w/others are on this milkweed plant in my garden.

Your picture made me very nostalgic. I grew up surrounded by nature --it gives me energy, somehow. But, I am far away from home right now and only surrounded by cars and smog. Thanx for your pic :-).

Nice Pic. I look at nature in the backyard every day. Water the hops and sunflowers, keep the dogs active, etc.
We have tons of birds, because we have quite a few trees. In the fall, the sound can be almost deaf'ning.
Just noticed the other day, we have a wild bee's nest up in the top of a pine-tree under the shade of one of our palms. Found it, only when a chunk of honeycomb fell to the ground and the dogs were fighting over it.

Cool shot! Yes, I do look at nature all the time! We have lots of bird feeders outside the front window! The other day there was a silly squirrel hanging upside down eating the bird food out of one of the feeders! :)

Cool picture. I trap gypsy moths for a living and it's refreshing to see a different type of catepillar! I thought they'd be butterflies by now though.
