Yes, is he responsible for our country being attacked?
Some how, and it still baffles me, at how the people did not consider the former President!!!

Questionable,
Noooo, my friend, our honorable President puts GOD first, and THEN the country, which is how it's supposed to be.

I see President Bush as honorable. No, he is not responsible for 911 happening, but he responded is a responsible and protective way. I'm proud of him. He stands up everyday to negativity and people who have forgotten the original objectives (like lawmakers and most of the respondents to this question). Yet, he has not waivered from the original objectives. I would like to see an even tougher, less politically correct stance and action against terrorists.

The first thing the President of the United States of America is to uphold and enforce the Constitution of the United States of America. Mr. Bush has failed to uphold the Constitution of the United State of America. However, he has done well in upholding the laws of the Corporation or the United States. In this area the is no America. So when you look at George W. Bush you are looking at the Corporation of the United States inwhich he is the CEO. In His eyes the corporation comes first and the Constitution come second regardless what George W. Bush says. He is a business man first.

Should it have been done(the war) yes. Do i think it has been handled correctly. No. I am in the army, and have been to iraq. I think our hands are tied to tight, and cant do the things we need to. Such as being able to responsibly root out and capture insurgents. What would i have done differently?
I am not qualified for that, i wouldve probably made it worse. its so easy sitting here on my computer and talking about it. But i wont pretend to have an answer.

I think it's pretty clear by now that Bush came into office with an agenda already decided, and he has used every situation and emergency that's come up as an excuse to do what he wanted to do from the start.
Just for instance, he came into office wanting to depose Saddam Hussein and take control of Iraq, and from the time of 9/11 he conflated Saddam with Al Quaeda and terrorism. He -still- justifies the invasion of Iraq as a response to terrorism, long after we realize there was never a connection.
In both his terms Bush arrogated rights and powers to himself and his branch of government that were far beyond the Constitutional limits to his power. He is the first American president to issue 'signing statements' declaring himself not bound by laws that he himself signed into law! He has authorized torture, in fact the breaching of any international treaty that he found temporarily inconvenient, and had his people lie to Congress about it. He has authorized wiretaps on Americans without the warrants required by law and even has had people arrested off the streets and held indefinitely without trial. And he had his people lie to Congress about that too.
Bush's White House tried to use every part of the infrastructure of the executive branch for political purposes. For instance, the replacement of US attorneys so they could carry on fraudulent prosecutions for partisan purposes. And they lied about that too.
When Bush took office he laid his hand on a Bible and swore to preserve, protect and defendthe Constitution. But Bush himself is the biggest threat to our Constitutionl

Responsible for what? 9/11? The murderous war in Iraq? Illegally spying on his own countrymen? Breaking the record for the most holidays ever taken by a President? Bad hair?
Gotta be more specific...

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but the President has a lot of influence and he's very powerful so anything he does has implications

He is like a corporate head. He wants to run the country like a corporation therefore if anything goes wrong, no matter what and no matter who does it, he is responisble. It is kind of like Harry Truman said..."If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen".

No. He's only doing what Dick tells him to. And I'll tell you what...I would never let myself be put in that kind of position, where some other "evil" man pulls my strings behind the scenes.
And as for Mr. Cheney...I am not on his twisted wave length at all.
