Yeh, there's really no 'average' price.

The price you do pay depends on a number of factors, the most important of which would be what stone you get.

Most engagement rings would contain a diamond. When purchasing a diamond you have to take into consideration the cut, clarity, colour and size of the diamond.

I think a decent engagement ring of about 1 carat which is eye-clear and has a low-grade white colour would fetch about $6000 from most jewellery stores. If you go to private jewellers, you might get a better price.

merely bought an engagement ring approximately 3 weeks in the past. . . Platinum is amazingly costly and has a tendency to double the value (or triple each so often) of a hoop. merely a word to you right here that it somewhat is advisable to look at different metals (white gold, silver, etc.) As for pricing, engagement rings would be almost as costly as you like them. the vast majority of the value frequently would not come from the hoop itself, yet from the stone (or stones) which you place on it. For a million/4 carat diamond solitaire (one stone) ring, it ought to value you $800 to $1200 money reckoning on the broker and the band kind, extraordinarily with platinum as your metallic of decision. once you initiate getting as much as a million carat's properly worth of diamond, the stone on my own can value between $a million,500 and $2,000. Bands usually do no longer value plenty extra effective than $a million,000 till it somewhat is clothier made or is amazingly complicated. As on your different questions. . . frequently the engagement ring has a diamond, and the marriage band would not. There loads of sellers which will sell an engagement ring and a marriage band as a set, and the marriage band could have smaller stones around it. The in demand diamond that sticks way accessible and grabs interest usually merely is going on the engagement ring. in case you do no longer purchase a set, like many people, there is not any longer something socially awkward approximately going to purchase a marriage band later. merely take it one step at a time. save around. . . get a solid sense for what she needs. solid success.

Prices of engagement rings can run the gamut. I believe that the rule of thumb is to spend at least one months salary.

The price of an engagement ring is generally two months salary.

note: Be sure your diamond is not a "conflict diamond". Verify the source of the diamond and stay away from De Beers. Do not buy a ring that has a diamond from Africa. Too much bloodshed.
