Why do Libs revere Robert Byrd so much? a former member of the KKK....How would they react if GW was a former KKK member? Why is William Jefferson still holding his job? If a Republican Senator had bribe money in his freezer, wouldn't he be run out of town?

Stevens will be gone inside of a month and I have no problem with that, again the question is, why is Jefferson still here? Cmon libs, Byrd is certainly a liberal, why is he supported?

the list goes on, what about Fienstien and hubby benefiting from all the government contracts she had control over, what about pelosi's conflict of interest, what about john murtha, then there is Reid and the land deals. The list goes on and on and on and on. I have no respect for this congress.

Byrd repudiated his KKK past, which, as Coragryph points out, was decades upon decades ago.
As for Jefferson, he should be censured if not expelled, and no, I doubt a Republican senator would have been run out of town. (Side note: Jefferson is a rep, not a senator, though your point isn't lessened by that implicit inaccuracy.) Jefferson did lose any claim to committee chairmanships, etc.
But this is all silly anyway, as you know you're just a troll and that your question is stupid.

Yes, Byrd was a member of the KKK 60 years ago.
And not all liberals revere Byrd.... so the generalization is invalid. And even those who do respect do so based on what he's done in the past 50 years, rather than what he did 60 years ago.
As for Jefferson, he was indicted in June on 16 charges related to corruption. So, he's going to trial. And Republican Senator Stevens is also being investigated for the same thing -- and Stevens still has his job.

Byrd's history with the KKK is just that - ancient history. We should just forget about any crosses he burned or Blacks he may have lynched and concentrate on his stellar work as a United States Senator, enslaving Blacks and other minorities with bloated welfare programs.

You mean like the republican senator Stevens from Alaska...the latest but certainly not the last republican in a long line of republicans being investigated, being tried are are already serving time for...corruption?
Why isn't Mark Foley in jail yet by the way? He and abramoff and Duke could all share a cell.

I do not revere or support either. But as they do not represent me I do not get the opportunity to vote for or against them.
Thier constituents determine whether to return them to office. This is called Democracy.

I really don't know anything about Byrd. He is from W. Virginia and thus I am not one of his constintuents. Again, just because one is Democrat it does not always mean they are liberal. Liberal is an adjective not a party.

libs revere robert byrd? that's news to me.
keep in mind that although he's a west virginia democrat, their logical opposite is the california republican.
so sure, he's loved by west virginia dems...but they're not what i would call liberals.
