Actually most makers use silicone. The trick is to clean the surfaces perfectly, or it will never stick. I use emery cloth to rough the glass slightly, then alchohol prep to be sure it is clean. The bracket it mounts to the same way. Once roughed and totally clean, apply the silicone sparingly, insert glass, and roll window up to keep pressure on it. Don't use that window at least 2 days, to allow complete curing of silicone.

you'll have to take the door skin off. contact a body shop or auto window repair place. they should be able to give you the name of the glue they use and where to find it.
