They're both 32/64-bit.

UPDATE:
To the guy that thinks I'm confused (and the moron that thumbs downed my answer): My answer clearly states that Core 2 Duo's are both 32/64-bit processors...as opposed to a 64-bit ONLY processor such as Intel's Itanium line.

Not confused at all.

Core 2 duo is 64 bit compatible, meaning it's ABLE to go into 64 bit mode if you have the right OS. You can upgrade to Windows Business on that processor, yes.

I think the first two answerers are confusing a 64 bit processor with a 64 bit operating system. All Core 2 Duos are 64 bit capable processors, meaning they can run either a 32 bit operating system or a 64 bit operating system.

EDIT: You gave a 3 word answer, that doesn't CLEARLY state anything, it left a lot up to interpretation. Hence, I clarified a bit.

Core Duo is 32-bit, Core 2 Duo is 64. My Dell Inspiron E1505 is Core Duo.

it's a 32 bit procesor but capable for using 64 bit.
most new cpu support both 32 and 64 bit.
you can use operating system(OS) as you need ( 32 or 64 bit os) because the cpu support both, but i suggest to get 32 bit OS because there is not many software that can run in 64 bit os.

they can be both, 64-bit is more expencive then 32-bit.

IF your considering on buying a new computer, i suggest you stick with 32-bit, EVEN though 64-bit is faster and better, MOST drivers for your hardware and other software are for 32-bit, and i think its harder to find 64-bit drivers from 3rd party sites incase you should run into problems.

ALSO 64-bit processors are back-wards compatible with 32-bit software,im not so sure about 16-bit software, BUT even though it is back-wards compatible with 32-bit software it is not back-wards compatible with 32-bit drivers for your hardware. and programs disigned for 32-bit processors will run better if run natively on those not running on 64-bit processors.
