I am about to leave for Las Vegas and I would like to know since that is where we are staying and can I get the coupon books at other hotels even if we are not staying there?

Luxor does have a coupon book - but the one that they leave in your room is hardly worth picking up. I would suggest asking the front desk lady if you could get a coupon book for the Luxor hotel itself - which usually includes a pass to the IMAX theatre, spa passes, and dining coupons (i.e. buffet discounts, and restaurant credits at Luxor. This will end up saving you a lot more money and it very convenient. You might have to do some convincing, but its well worth it. Other than that - there are some discounted show tickets that you can get from Tix2Nite near M&M World (across from NYNY casino) that might also help save some money for you too. Good luck, have fun, and hope this helps.

I don't recall the Luxor having a "funbook"

"Generally" speaking you need to be staying at a hotel or have a coupon to receive a funbook. The Stratosphere is the only hotel that I know of that gives out their funbook to anyone that asks and this may have changed.

You can pick up the Fremont Street Experience coupons with nothing more than an out of state ID. Go to the FSE office at 425 Fremont, it's located on the second floor of the parking garage next to Walgreens. The coupons include.
2-4-1 buffet - Main Street Station>already the best buffet for the $$ in all of LV
2-4-1 buffet - Fremont
$10 free play Binion's
$10 free play Golden Nugget
& More.

The two best sources of LV coupons are not free, but they are both worth many times their cost.
