I check the clothes dryer about 4-5 times everytime I run it. I have to open it up and make sure one of my cats isn't in there.

No I don't think it quite an obsessive-compulsive disorder completely. You only do it when the dryer is running and not at other times. Has your cat ever gotten into the dryer by mistake? If so, you are just concerned that it may happen again. I know, one of my cats favorite places was inside the dryer atop the nice fluffy load of warm clothes! I always had to make certain that Shadow wasn't in there before I turned it on ! I only need to check once and ensure Shadow's whereabouts before I pressed the button.

The next time you check the dryer, say out loud to yourself, The cat is not in the dryer. This will confirm to yourself by hearing it aloud. So the next time you feel like checking the dryer, just stop and say to yourself, the cat is not in the dyer. It may take several times before you can actually master this self affirmation but after a while I hope you'll find that you are not checking the dyer ever 5 minutes!

I have an obsession with even numbers for a reason even unknown to me. I like to have an even number of things. I guess I associate them with good luck. And this from a girl born on 11-29-85. Ah well, can't win them all. I also tend to count things again and again when I'm bored.
