I'm applying to a teaching assistant in at a local school district. The application requests that I submit either my "Credentials" or three letters of recommendation. What exactly are these? I do have my Illinois Initial Teaching Certificate (which I also have to submit) and my transcripts showing that I have taken classes for my degree. Otherwise, I really don't know what else to possibly submit.

Any help you can give will be appreciated. Thanks!

In addition to your certificate, your credentials include what pertinent exams you passed (Basic Skills Test, etc.), endorsements, your NCLB "highly qualified" area(s) and, eventually, your teaching history. Go to the ISBE website for more information and set up your ECS account if you haven't already done so. Good luck!
