I want to put a tach into my car because its a manual and it doesnt have one, has anyone wired a tach before? How is it done and how easy is it?

I have a 99 toyota corolla, with no tach in the speedometer cluster

With out knowing your car, its hard to tell you how.. Here's the gen idea though.

Aftermarket tachs has
Red wire = 12 volts switch
Black wire = chassis ground
White wire = to your lights, so the light in tach will turn on when you turn your lights on
Green wire = neg side of your coil.

Now if you have a DIS type ing. system, coil packs, etc then you will need an after market adapter to hook tach up to those types of ing. systems

It has been years. The instructions will come with the tach. It only requires a couple of leads, one to the ignition and one to the dash lights and the ground. You won't have any trouble.
