They are called "TRI"mesters because there are three of them. Tri being kind of like a root for three. There are 9 months in a pregnancy and three trimesters each being approxiametly 3 months each.
1st trimester: months 1-3
2nd trimester: months 4-6
3rd trimester: months 7-9

1st trimester is the first 3 months, this is when the baby is forming and growing. This is also when you will feel at your worst with sickness and tierdness etc..
2nd trimester is the middle 3 months, you will probably feel great around these months your skin may glow and your hair may shine.
3rd trimester is the last 3 months and this is when our sickness could return and you will probably ache and feel tired again due to the weight of the baby. You may also start nesting and want to clean everywhere or re-decorate to prepare for the baby. You may feel really hungry too!

you have three different trimesters while pregnant.
1st trimester is 1-3 months
2nd trimester is 4-6 months
and 3rd trimester is 7-9.
Hope this helps.
Usually all symptoms in first trimester are gone by second, but most reappear in the third.

well think of it this way...Your pregnant for 9 months which is three quarters of a year. A quarter of a year is 13 weeks. A trimester = a quarter of a year so a trimester is 13 weeks.
