Yes,our society is vastly more authoritarian,and becoming more so in leaps and bounds,year after year. There are few democracies - none,actually - where the individual is so tightly regulated. We even regulate where children may or may not go barefoot. We throw high school boys in alcohol rehab for mere possession of beer,patently normal behavior for the age group. I could see a fine,but really. Europeans are pretty shocked when they come over here. We are very tightly regulated.

Let's see . . . 10 years ago was 1997. The tech boom was starting and the economy was better. It was pre-9/11. Baby Bush wasn't running the country. Gas was cheap. Houses were affordable. So I am inclined to say that on the economic-political front, yes life is a little tougher now but these things are cyclical and we will be on the upswing again.

Ten years ago I was 19, I was in college, didn't have to worry about bills, I got to party and get laid all the time...
Now I have to worry about bills. So yes, a little bit.

No. Life keeps getting easier. Ten years ago you couldn't have talked, taken a picture, listened to music, emailed, etc... on one device.
Also bigotry and religion are both on the decline-but have ways to go-both need to be gotten rid of totally.

Definatly. Teenagers especailly. Its hard for us teens. Tooo hard. That is why you find us committing suicide. Its tough.

it depends on what you consider easy..
easier in technological stuff, easier to communicate and navigate but, harder to be happy..harder to keep a clear concience, harder to stay true..kind of contradicts itself doesn't it?
