hi ladies, lam 39 weeks pregnant and woke up this morning with cramps its not really pain full it comes every few minutes, is this a sign of labor what can l do to fasten the contraction, really cant wait to have my baby, and have you noticed that your tummy got smaller by now when l look at my tummy l tell myself that my baby would be really small as lam not big at all but my midwife says everything seems fine, my baby position is really wierd my tummy is very long Not round like my first pregnancy,thanks.

Your baby is settling into birthing position... probably the reason your tummy has a weird shape... also, your uterus has been previously stretched so the elasticity in it isn't as tight as the first time around... it's like a balloon.. the first time you blow it up it's tough, but when you let the air out and blow it up again it's much stretchier.

If I were you I would walk and walk and walk... do some squats, laundry... anything to keep you moving and bending... you are probably in the early stages of labor and moving will keep your contractions coming.
