There isn't a day that goes by that liberals and democrats don't insist that we're losing the war in Iraq. So what happens when we start making progress? What happens when things start to improve? Will democrats acknowledge it and congradulate our brave men and women in uniform for a job well done? Or will they continue to insist on withdrawl and failure? Kind of makes you wonder why anybody would support politicians that WANT the US to lose in Iraq just so they don't look like idiots!

They are already doing it. They just refuse to acknowledge any progress at all and repeat the Liberal mantra, Quagmire, Quagmire, Quagmire. Just as they repeated Bush lied, Bush lied. Truth is of no consequence. Results is what matters, results in election wins, nothing more.

You asked the question, So what happens when we start making progress? That question speaks volumes. You realize that it is a mess yourself. I am a democrat and I don't believe we can possibly pull out. I would love for there to be success in Iraq, but I fear that it is only going to get worse. I believe that this war is going to be a nightmare for both the dems and the republicans for the next 2 presidential terms. God help us all and our fighting men and women.

1) The brave men and women serve with honor, they follow orders and do the job they were sent to do.

2) Thier mission was to remove Sadam. Done.

3) Military do not serve a political party. they serve the country all of it. everyone. the uphold the constitution.

So, wanting to get them out of a quagmire is political to you.
There will be a civil war,
in that country, a fight for power political and otherwise,
a fight for control of resources, regardless of what puppets we put in.....
this will happen regardless of liberal or conservatives yapping on YA.

do you get that.

meanwhile there are lives lost. not just our honored armed forces.....
but innocent people of that country.

do you get that.

The question posed is one that troubles me, because it lacks a real understanding of the issue,
creates a false choice.

Sucess, means to leave and having one less american life lost in a quagmire.

Some of them are turning from the dark side, and are seeing things from the troops point of view, I can't remember their names but two democratic Senators went to Iraq and came back with changed opinions.

However Harry Reid will probably still say we're loosing. If he was a football coach down by six points, and his team was rallying to win the game, he'd probably throw in the towel.

If their morale is low it somewhat is by using fact they could be killed at any 2nd by ability of a roadside bomb, they do no longer comprehend who the enemy is, many innocents are being killed and that they are able to't even cope with injured Iraqis, they're sent in for various excursions even at age 40 and above. The "whack a mole" innovations-set is ineffective. Many generals who served over there are ill over the Iraq mess. Their ,morale could be much less by using fact they're people who pay for a twisted up foreign places coverage. IN answer TO THE ABOVE: If a democrat had gotten us right into a quagmire, i'd nevertheless think of it replaced right into a large number...i think of John Kennedy have been given us in touch in Vietnam...i replaced into 18 while the draft ended, transforming into up for 10 years understanding people who died over there, i thought for specific my destiny replaced into to die there too. I wasn't afraid...basically fatalistic approximately it. Then we had to depart with no longer something to coach for 60, 000 ineffective-- different than the desire, that by some ability the Russians had found out their lesson for helping the Viet Cong..this is stupid. yet do no longer misunderstand my place...we will not run from this. we would desire to keep a presence there, a minimum of on the horizon. i assume my factor is that the President can not win this together with his party on my own...he desires to step removed from the partisanship and handle this so as that a Democrat like me could have self belief that everybody is being completed and the genuine reason we are there. i do no longer opt for this to coach right into a fiasco like Vietnam. In at present's worldwide you are able to not order American's to pass to conflict, we would desire to have self belief is a competent combat.

Yep. There's definitely progress going on.

"Iraq's largest Sunni Arab political bloc announced its withdrawal from the government Wednesday, undermining efforts to seek reconciliation among the country's rival factions, and two bombing attacks in Baghdad killed at least 67 people.

In one attack, 50 people were killed and 60 wounded when a suicide attacker exploded a fuel truck near a gas station in western Baghdad. Another 17 died in a separate car bomb attack in central Baghdad.

The U.S. military announced the deaths of four American soldiers, three of whom were killed by a sophisticated, armor-piercing bomb. Britain also announced the death of one of its soldiers, by a roadside bomb in Basra."

Intermittent short periods of electricity in Bagdad. People starving. Sick. Dying.

But hey, only 75 troops were killed in June. The lowest since 2006.

Yep, good progress.

If we actually start making objective measurable progress, and there is a likelihood of it being sustainable --

Then Democrats are going to need another political issue to attract public attention.

Liberals have nothing to do with it. The issue isn't a liberal or conservative agenda -- it's purely partisan politics Democrats vs. Republicans (and most Democrats are not actually liberals).
