Near Mount Rushmore. We camped out there when we were making a trip across the country and the stars seriously looked like a carpet in the sky. I dont know if you can still camp out in Custer State Park-but if you can-I'd be there with bells on.

I love camping, and have been to many different places in the US, but in NC (where I am from) I would have to say Deep Creek. It is so green and peaceful with mountains surrounding you and a clean clear creek loaded with river rock that you can go tubing in, lots of waterfalls and hiking trails around, horseback riding, rafting, etc.... This place is great.

North GA mountains, around Dahlonega. Bunches of hiking trails and places to get lost from the rest of the world for a while. Fresh clean mountain springs, tall loblolly pine trees to provide shade, and my cell phone cannot get a signal...ah perfect.

I love Letchworth in NY, i go there almost every year and it is awesome, but if i could choose anywhere in the us...i would go to yellowstone or whatever park it is with that HUGE tree, i think that would be really cool to see.

Some place in the mountains, preferably where its warm and the view is stunning and there is not a lot of holiday makers and commercialism going on.

Yosemite or Yellowstone State parks. Why? Because they look so magnificent on the TV. I would love to go there and see them in person someday.
