Go for the Agatha Christie - all of her books are at least of decent quality, and many are very good.

I'd pick Three Blind Mice or The Kite Runner. Agatha Christie's books are always good, and I've only heard great things about The Kite Runner (and hopefully, I'll be reading it soon).

It depends on what you like. I would suggest Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte because its a very interesting book, one of the best in the history of literature, and its style is really outstanding. But considering that you are still in high school, you would probably find it too difficult. If you're interested in detective stories, try reading Agatha Christie.

Grendel is a wicked book. It is Beowulf written from the point of view of the monster. Twisted.

Wow, what a crappy list...no Austen, Dickens, Wharton, Trollope.....if I HAD to pick something from your list, I would choose "The Hot Zone". I prefer non-fiction myslef, and that book is a very very scary account of an outbreak of the Ebola Virus, and just how many dangerous viruses are amongst us. It will scare you.
