In the 2 part episode where Reid was abducted by the multiple personality guy..I didn't understand something.
He was placed on a chair was his hands tied and was left alone for certain periods of time. However, he wasn't actually tied to the chair. I kept wondering as I watched it why he didn't get off the chair and try to escape.
Any thoughts?

Reid tried to reason with the guy. He tried to use his BAU training to get to the bottom of his problems. He didn't want to jsut leave the guy for fear that he would hurt someone else.

I suspect that Reid was being kept drugged even before we see this being done. In the scene where we see "Tobias" administer the drugs, you will note that Reid's sleeve is rolled up on one arm.

This is one of my favorite shows.
Reid was drugged when he was with this guy. In the second episode you see him take the drugs the guy had stashed.
Hate to see him FRY his brain.

He had been drugged and this made him compliant and not want to leave.
