No there was an ending.
The end of season three, a group of loyal alien hunters (although the alien hunter section of FBI had been disbanned) were still after Max and the others. They decided that Max, Liz, Michael, and Isabel were the four aliens and decided to kill them. Meanwhile, Liz started to develop clairvoyent powers. She touched a woman's hand and saw her get shot in an alley, she and Max ran after the woman and saved her from being killed by a mugger. Liz then, while making out with Max, sees herself, Michael, Isabel, and Max being shot and killed. They decide to leave Roswell for good after graduation, each going their separate ways. Michael, who wasn't graduating decided to go first. Max asked Liz to marry him after graduation, and they plan to go around the country trying to do good and avoid the feds. Isabel and her husband decide to move away, possibly to Boston where he got a job offer. Maria takes Michael to a psychic to see their futures and the psychic tells Michael to "trust the love". So graduation night comes around, the guest speaker (an alien enthusiast) starts his speech and the gang realizes that this is where Liz saw them all die. So Max goes up to the podium and turns down all the lights except the one on him, giving everyone else a chance to sneak out. Isabel says good-bye to her family, and Maria, Kyle, Liz, and Isabel all head out to the pod in the desert. Max finishes his speech and Michael bursts in on his motorcycle and he and Max take off. They all meet up and decide to all six of them running away together. Isabel's husband (can't remember his name right now) shows up with an old VW van, and the six of them (Isabel, Kyle, Maria, Michael, Liz, and Max) take off. Kyle's father, leaks a tip to the police that they were heading south to Mexico, helping them to the Arizona border. They ride off into the distance. Max and Liz finally get married, and Liz sends her journal to her parents so they can read all that happened over the last 3 years.

It did have an ending. The series closed with Liz getting a premonition of her, Max, Michael, and Isabel dying due to an FBI setup, so they decide to leave Roswell after their high school graduation. Michael finally confessed that he loved Maria and she makes the decision to be with him no matter what. After Liz, Max, Michael, Isabel, Maria, and Kyle escape from their high school graduation, where the FBI setup is at, they hit the road in a bus, where there are several emotional goodbyes, especially between Kyle and his father, Jim Valenti. The final scenes of the show feature Max and Liz getting married and Liz's father reading the infamous journal that Liz wrote, chronicling the last three years. The final scene has Liz peering out of the van in her wedding dress saying, "I'm Liz Parker and I am happy"

I know I'm terribly late, but I'm going to put this out there anyways: I can honestly say this was one of the greatest TV show series I've seen in my entire life. This just contributes to the idea that everything was simply better in the 90s and I definitely recommend this to even teens 2015.... or anybody into romantic sci-fi stuff. It may have been unrealistic but the feeling that the ending gives is like no other.
