That's ok, don't worry about it. Most people won't admit it, but driving CAN be a scary thing. I was scared the first time I was at the wheel because I just wasn't used to that feeling.
Keep in mind, those educational driving videos are TRYING to scare you, because they want you to realize the real dangers involved with wreckless driving. If you just keep good street smarts, you'll be ok. :)

Well you take that chance everytime you get in a car even when you are not the driver. But really that doesn't happen that often. it is good that you are a bit nervous because that will make you a better driver you will be more cautious and obey the speed limit. Just remember that things happen and there isn't a huge chance that anything will happen to you if you are a safe driver. I am 24 have never been pulled over and haven't gotten so much as a parking ticket. I was in my first accident when I was 23 and that was with a deer. So your odds of not being in an accident are good. So don't worry and go through drivers ed get your license and enjoy not haveing to get your parents to drive you somewhere.

Ha ha when you actually do start driving and pull up to the gas station you won't want to drive anymore then either. Especially when get is 3.68 per gallon for regular unleaded. The best thing to do is not to worry too much about it. If you worry too much it can affect your ability to do the thing you need to do while you are driving. And you will think that every car the swerves is being driven by a drunk driver. You will be a much better drive also if you don't worry too much about it. If you are that scared about it do what i do, say a prayer before you start driving. Like this one:
Angel of God
My guardian dear
To Whom His love
Commits me here
Ever this day
Be at my side
To light and guard
To rule and guide. Amen
Or you this
Lord please give the the patience not to honk my horn on this trip.
Or my favorite one
Lord please give me the serenity not to get out of my car and kick some body's @ss today.
Oh and if you think drunk drivers are something wait until you get right next to an 18 wheeler. I'd rather be driving next to a drunk driver than an 18 wheeler any day.

For some people, it can be a very scary experience. I have a cousin who is 21 now, and refuses to drive anywhere unless she absolutely has to, even though she is licensed and knows how. She does not want to be responsible for possible injuries to herself or anyone else. Personally, I'd rather have my fate in my own hands, than in someone else's. However, it's refreshing that you recognize the dangers involved in operating a vehicle (since most teens don't) and that will only make you a more conscientious and responsible driver. Unfortunately, most places in America require that you be able to drive a car if you want to have any degree of independence. Imagine if you had to walk or take a bus to do all your food and clothes shopping, and carry all that stuff all the way back home every day. Being able to operate a vehicle will make your life much easier in the long run, even if you don't drive very frequently.

Bottom line: Those videos are meant to scare some sense into you so that you don't go out and do that.
I've been driving almost a year now and I have NEVER had some drunk driver slam into me out of nowhere. The odds are on your side, trust me. Now, it's MORE likely that you could get killed from hopping into the car with a drunk driver...so be wary of that.
Oh, I understand you're scared about this whole driving thing, but trust me, once you start driving and being able to take YOURSELF places...you'll wonder how you ever survivied without being able to drive. The simplest things like being able to go to the store to get something when you really want it will seem like a sweet perk.

Don't worry it's just a phase you'll get over it. I felt the same way when I first learned how to drive. As far as drunk drivers, the only thing you can do about that is not driving drunk your self and pay attention in class when they talk about 'defensive driving' this will pay off in the long run. The chances of you being hit by a drunk driver while driving yourself around or someone else driving you around are the same. You are not protected in any way just because you aren't the one driving. I'm pretty sure you won't want someone else driving you around your whole life, thus you will get over this fear quicker than you think.
Good Luck!

Well, you can just as easily die if you're the passenger in a car... more likely, really, because most people will be more careless than you would.
Don't drive at night, when drunk drivers are more prevalent, always wear a seatbelt, and get a big, safe car.
Just leaving the house (or even not leaving the house) puts you at risk for death everyday. You've got to just be careful and live your life; otherwise what's the point of being alive?

I just finished drivers ed. The videos aren't meant to scare you, more to help you. I don't plan on owning a car. I'm not allowed to drive without glasses on which I hate because that is the only thing I use them for. In a few years after college, I am moving to New York and using other methods to get around such as subway, taxi, walking, limo(after I get an 8 mil. a year job as a news reporter)

Well, keep in mind that in everything you do, there's a potential that you will get hurt.
You open a letter and you MIGHT get a paper cut.
You have some soup and you MIGHT burn your mouth.
You ride your bike and you MIGHT fall.
You take a walk and you MIGHT trip.
You sit down and someone MIGHT pull the chair from under you.
You write a thought down and you MIGHT stab yourself with the pencil.
You get in the car even as a passenger, things can still happen.
Yes, you could get in a car accident. Should it stop you from a new experience in life? Of course not! Where would we be if everyone was too afraid to do anything! If you live your life in fear, you don't live your life at all.
At the moment you might not want to drive, and that is fine. Just keep your options open.
Do you really want your mom and dad to drop you and your date off at the movies when you're 20?
I wish you the best of luck.

Hmmm. So you are afraid to drive because of what other driver's might do [drunk drivers for example] or what you might do as a driver? The chances are pretty slim either way that you'll screw up bad enough to hurt someone or that you'll get hurt seriously. You'll just have to take a chance. OR you don't really have to get a license. It would probably be a major inconvenience, but both my grandmothers and one of my aunts never learned to drive and they're doing just fine. =) Ok, hope I helped.
