Full immersion with previous instruction on the grammar skeleton has done the most for me.
That means: First you take some well-structured, yet quickly paced classes which introduce you to declinations, forming the passive, the tenses, the genders, etc., with some core vocabulary, and then you go to a country where the language is spoken and just do it.

The second best thing after living in a foreign country is to have a lover who is a native speaker of that language.

No such thing as "easy" in this regard. But if you can afford it, the best would be to spend time in the "target" country (hopefully you have a basic understanding of the language, then hit the books, listen to the radio, TV, "immerse" yourself in the language...and don't forget your dictionary).

Total immersion. You must speak and hear the culture constantly and read, breathe and sleep it.
If you cannot live in an area where that is all that is spoken, the next best thing are the language tapes.
Good luck

go live to that country or go to a place where knowing that language is almost a necessity, like for example, if you want to learn Spanish you can move to say Miami where I'd say English is almost a second language and there you'd be forced to speak it.
