When Zaheer Khan came to bat, he found some belly jeans lying in the crease. Though he removed the same from the crease, he again noticed some belly jeans lying. He thought that those were thrown by Kevin Pieterson and in anger stared at him and raised his bat.

It was some silly tactic by the England players to divert the concentration of Zaheer Khan when he cane on to bat. Jelly beans are used by the players to keep themselves fresh while fielding and it is mostly used by the Englishmen. So when Zaheer came on to bat, he found a few of them on the pitch. As there was a drinks break, he thought that it must have fallen by mistake and so he just cleaned them off and faced the first ball. When the second ball was to be bowled, he again found them and immediately Kevin got in and gave some comments. This angered Zaheer and so he asked Kevin abt that. By the mean time Collingwood gave an comment ans Zaheer got angry and showed the bat to Kevin as though telling him an reply. Immediately Vughan intervened and got off Kevin and asked Zaheer to continue the game...

Describing England's behavior as "insulting", Zaheer said jelly beans, a type of confectionery, were thrown at him the moment he arrived at the crease on Sunday, as India sat comfortably in the driver's seat on their way to 483 all out in the first innings in reply to England's score of 198.
England skipper Michael Vaughan has apologized to Team India pacer Zaheer Khan for the jelly bean prank during the second cricket Test here but insisted that the incident had been blown out of proportion.
Zaheer Khan said England pranks of flicking jelly beans on the pitch while he was batting inspired him to produce his best figures in a Test match so far that have put India on the verge of victory.
Hope this helps mate!!!

Well it started like this -
Zaheer Khan came to bat on the crease and took notice of jellybeans on the pitch.
He removed some from the pitch and continued his innings.
When he came to face his next ball, he noticed more jellybeans.
According to Zaheer, it was either Kevin Pieterson (at gully) or Alastair Cook (short leg) who was throwing the beans.
Thinking it is Kevin, he raised his bat and warned him.

Basically England resorted to pathetic stunts to try and put off the indian batsmen by throwing a few jelly beans onto the pitch. So Zaheer got angry and i gues KP was the first in his sights.

in basic terms portion of the pre-interest recommendations video games and drumming up insurance of the sequence i might think of. the only heat up in England against Somerset grew to become into probable inadequate, yet that grew to become into as lots through kinfolk commitments particularly than any duplicity on the portion of the ECB. Dare I advise T20 interfering with the try training - you are able to not have issues the two techniques? At Anil Kumble's request, one greater heat up grew to become into scheduled at Manuka Oval in Canberra in the previous the Australian try sequence. an analogous venue hosted the tournament as portion of a Sheffield preserve and Ryobi cup "pageant" over December and January. Manuka performs speedy, bouncy and actual, comparable to the main venues. Kumble counseled the venue because of the fact the pinnacle of the joint working committee, so no question of the venue being a unilateral decision. Suspect it is greater hype than substance. It wasn't the track that cost India the britain and Australian tests, it grew to become into the lack of ability of a respected attack (as i've got reported in the previous, you want a impressive pair of bowlers, in those sequence India struggled to discover even one). The absence of a solid pairing might nonetheless chew you this sequence. that's going to be an exciting journey.

Some people see it as a joke, others read more into it. Its the general trend all over the world. People are expressing their hatred in subtle, small ways. Indian Muslims, in particular do try to project that they are very highly loved & respected in "their country" India. That's a lie. The truth is the opposite. Just because of fear & politics they are tolerated. Times are changing.

It is only a minor skirmish and lighter moment.I feel Prior could have been behind the jelly beans(a toffee it seems) affair.
Need not be taken seriously more so after Vaughan's apology.
Mr Vakkayil is it an inadvertent or deliberate mistake.
