No one cares what you know until they know you care.
That being said, I've tried to inspire people a lot to get them to do what I think they should do, it hardly ever works.
Then again, I have a lot of people (sometimes the same people) tell me how much I have inspired them by the way I dealt with a life threatening illness and a lot of physical problems.
You have to lead by example is all you can do.

First, get to know the person then that should inspire you to inspire them. One of the most wonderful things I have expierenced is really getting to know a person. Thats inspiration!

A little NLP trick i learned said that getting people to visualise doing the action. This is because before you do anything, your mind first visualises doing it.
Also by being an example, then they can see what would happen.
