Google pack does offer free version of Spyware which only scans but does not remove anything.
Can I download Avast if it says it will interrupt with Norton I already hv(trial version)?

Go here and get the home version of avast! antivirus: http://www.avast.com/ Be sure to register, because that's how they send you the key. It's free, but you have to register. Good night!
Install avast! and remove all the other anti-spyware and antivirus software you have. Running too much of that stuff will bog things down, and avast! is probably all you need. Good night!

I recommend that you save all of your files off of thecomputer, and reinstall the operating system (Windows XP?). During the Windows install, it will give you the opportunity to delete the existing partitions, and you should do this. The installation will also give you the opportunity to format the new partitions. You should choose the NTFS option if it's given to you. That way your drive is as clean as it can be for your purposes.
Why am I taking this extreme approach? Antivirus software is good, but not great. In fact most antivirus software only catches a portion of the viruses that are out there. Even if you have good AV software, you're lucky to catch 80% of the viruses, trojans, rootkits, and spyware that is out there. The people who create the viruses (etc) are well funded by organized crime groups and governments (such as China). They're very good at staying ahead of the antivirus corporations.
To best prevent reinfection, create a user on your computer that is NOT an administrator. Use the free Windows Firewall that comes with XP, or get an antivirus product that includes a firewall. Keep your patches updated regularly (all Microsoft patches, and patches for other software you've installed). And practice safe surfing. Stay away from porn sites (full of viruses, trojans, key-loggers, etc), and other dark-corners-of-the-internet sites.
I know this isn't good news, but trust me, the viruses your trial software found are only the tip of the iceberg. The only way to know your computer is completely clean is to reload it from scratch.
------------------------------------
To reinstall windows, you need your Windows install or Windows restore cd. Usually these come with your PC, along with a bunch of other junk software. The cd may be labeled by the manufacturer, so it might not be obvious it's the reinstall cd. If you don't have a Windows install cd, you'll have to make the judgement call of whether to purchase one. Once you have it, just throw it in the cd tray and then follow the directions. They're fairly clear.

Be warned, anti spyware programs that say you are infected and can only remove them by paying money are a scam.
You DON'T have 40 infections. If adaware didn't pick them up then they probably don't exist.
Go to nortons home page and use the online security checker or mcafee have the same thing.
Norton also has a free trial version on norton internet security,
down load it, use it, then if you don't want to pay for subscriptions uninstall it. either way it will clean your system.

ok first i see that you have a trojan downloader on your computer.THAT IS NOT SPYWARE IT IS A TROJAN(VIRUS).i highly recomend that you download and install a really great program called"kaspersky internet security" its a antivirus with a built in firewall.i noticed that you said that you have norton.you will have to uninstall norton because it will cause conflict withthe kaspersky internet security. install the kaspersky and run it as soon as you get it installed and you might be able to save yourself alot of time and work reformating your computer.i work on computers and have found that the kaspersky internet security does the best job for me.i run it on my computers at home and at my shop.the kaspersky has a trial version that is fully functional and you can try for 30 days for free.the link to kaspersky internet security is.. http://www.kaspersky.com/trials .....do this as soon as possible..
