Where was your "fort" when you were a kid?

I had a treehouse in the backyard.

inbetween a couch and a door, i'd open the door and put a HUGE blanket over it and stuff.
and i'd grab ammunition (beanie babies) and whoever went in that room was nailed in the head with one.
survivors were few..

I didn't have a "fort" per se. There was, though, this huge tree in my yard whose roots were spread out in such a way they appeared to look like different rooms of a house -- too small for me but the perfect size for my "Ginny dolls". I remember playing with them there for hours on end. That was way back then when parents didn't feel the need to provide constant entertainment or activities for their children.

My parents always said that "out of boredom, comes imagination", and to this day I am grateful they made me think for myself. Imagination is a priceless gift.

my first fort was a bunch of blankets on top of chairs in my living room, it only lasted about 10 min but it was amazzingg

We had a lot of forts. Tree house. Bamboo hut. Cardboard hut. Hollowed out gigantic bush. They were all over town.

Me and my friend found a huge pit in the woods near her house, and we made that into our fort

i had woods on the side of my house, and my friend lived right across the street so she came over one day. and we went in the woods and found a big empty spot with a tree you can sit on. it was pretty cool...
