Well , then let me ask you something . . . How would you feel if you couldn't walk away or ignore them ? What would you feel like if you HAD TO ask questions and be insulted everyday. . . . on and on and on and on ? What if you 'could not' quit ?
I'm speaking of the President . This man , like his decisions or not , has endured the most hatred that I've ever seen one man take . And he can't walk away . He can't quit .(of course he could , but that's really out of the question considering his dedication) . When he held a joint news conference yesterday with Gordon Brown of Great Britain , I saw him 'back on track' . And I felt for him too . Which one of you is foolish enough to say that you could take a beating like him all day long at your job ? All day , every day , day in and day out . Hate , hate , hate . Ya know , Dick Morris made the comment that Clinton became unable to govern because of the Lewinsky affair and all the attention .
Can you haters give this guy a break ?

I know I don't insult you, so I must fall into the terrible answers category.
I'm sorry, I'm doing the best I can.
I'll try harder and work on getting better.
Promise.
But , back to your question.
I've said it before, when Bush takes it in the face, he takes it for all of us, even those who are ignorantly insulting him and questioning his judgments.
God bless him on all our behalves.

No President has reached out to the other party more and more often than G.W.Bush, unless it was his father.
You are absolutely right, the left literally hates the President. Goodness knows, the man is not perfect and I have had some serious disagreements with his policies and his administration. However, he has had his hands full almost from the minute he took office and has received no cooperation from the Democrats on anything except the amnesty bill, which should have clued him in that it was a bad idea.
The continual nitpicking, obstructing, and harassing the Democrats have done to this President and other members of his administration is making it hard for the President to find good men and women to serve in the courts and in his administration. Why would anyone choose a position where they are harangued every day in every way. Life is too short to sign up for such crap. As a result, we are losing the ability to have top notch people running our government.
No, the haters will not give anyone a break which is not plugged in to socialism. They decry global warming, but want to destroy industry instead of planting more trees. They attack the use of petroleum, but refuse to embrace nuclear power. They want everyone to have free health care, but don't seem to realize that making health care compete for the Federal dollar will only destroy the progress that has been made over so many years.

Hi. I answered your other question and I did appreciate your polite phrasing. I hope you didn't find my answer rude. If you detect impatience in some of our answers, it is because lots of us Wiccans have a real sore spot about some of the assumptions that are made about us by many Christian people. However, I would like to clarify that a major stumbling point when trying to explain Wicca to a Christian is that we simply do not share the same "givens" about the nature of reality. In your question above you list good and evil with peace and violence as absolutes that seem to you to be "givens" and those things can't be compared because peace and violence are quantitative ideas whereas good and evil are philosophical ideas. Wicca does not accept the concepts of absolute good and absolute evil. To us, the universe is simply a place of balance and the ideas of good and evil are a matter of your frame of reference. I deeply apologize if you found my answer in any way insulting. It is not my intention to insult. But we use such different language and have such different ideas that it's hard to find a way to explain my religion in a way that doesn't blast the Christian ideas about the nature of reality. Also, it might have left a bad taste in people's mouths that you suggested Wiccans don't believe in the Divine when in fact, Wicca is about the Divine and nothing else. EDIT: If you truly want to learn about what Wicca actually is, then shoot me an e-mail. We don't try to convert folks, so there's not danger in it. If you want to understand, talk to Wiccans. We are nice people. Seriously. I have on more than one occasion collaborated with Christian clergy for funerals and other events. We can get along and understand one another. I've seen it.

It is unfortunate that so many people harbor such great hatred as what I see expressed on Yahoo Answers on a daily basis. I do not believe that you should not question that which you don't agree with, but hatred only serves to cloud good judgment in general.
grumpyoldman: I have a question for you. Do you consider yourself a liberal? If so, why is it an insult to use a term which addresses a belief that you hold? You should not view my statement as a challenge, it is merely a curiosity. I do not feel myself insulted when someone says "hey cons". It clues me into the fact that they may not like conservatives, but the word is in no way offensive in and of itself.

This is life in the fishbowl of politics. He knew when he took the position that his opponents would be coming after him with a vengence. Especially when half the country didn't vote for you and want to see you fail. I feel bad for him to extent but I have axes to grind with him too. He may not love the responses he gets on an hourly basis but that's what he's bound to get.
While others will bring great philosophical quotes from our former leaders, I'll quote a less known voice from pop culture.

Its very difficult to give him a break when he is not encouraging the enforcement of existing immigration laws and seems to even ignore their existance. He is now encouraging more food to be imported from China knowing full well it is likely to be unhealthy, if not deadly, and won't allow the origin label.
I just frankly do not believe this man has much regard for Americans as a whole. If this sounds hateful, I'm sorry. I feel the country is slipping away from us. Perhaps I see it more clearly than younger people do. We are losing all of the gains made throughout the history of the U.S. and I can't find it in my heart to applaud this man for that. I'm sincerely asking you, how should we rationalize these facts?

I agree wholeheartedly, I have sat back and watched this man George W Bush, being torn to shreds, by the very people he is giving his life to protect, I honestly think that America in general needs a good boot up the @r$e, not so very long ago when I first came on this sight the first thing that struck me, was the amount of dirty laundry that is being displayed in public, to many eejits pushing the boat out ( meaning expressing their hatered so freely on a worldwide stage to a worldwide audience ) while shouting about their freedoms that are given them by the very people they slander 24/7, and yet they persist time and again, full well knowing and joining in with the rest of the world who think of America as a laughing stock, and anyone with two brain cells fused together would realize that the blame lays soley at the feet of the people themselves and not their president, everyone is running around like a bunch of headless chickens, blaming this or that on anyone but themselves, actually I have got to admit that it's the best three ringed circus I ever did see.

Not everyone who criticizes George W. Bush "hates" him. In fact, my guess is that very few people actually "hate" anyone. Criticism also does not constitute "insult".
As for your assertion that Bush is "unable to walk away or ignore them". That's not accurate, he can "walk away" anytime he wants to, just like Richard Nixon did. It seems to me that he's also pretty good at "ignoring" anyone or anything that he disagrees with.
And, don't forget that George W. Bush spent millions of dollars to get the job he has, twice. Maybe he's getting his "money's worth".
If negative attention is making George W. Bush unable to govern like negative attention made Bill Clinton unable to govern, you have to consider the fact that the negative attention stems from their own actions and that they are both their own worst enemies.
Nobody owes George W. Bush a free ride.
