Just be yourself. I am sure you are a nice, friendly girl and will make friends easily. I moved from Florida to Tacoma, Washington when I went into the eighth grade and was sooo scared...I had always lived in the South. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was friendly to everyone and had lots of acquaintances and a few good friends by the time the school year was half over. Give yourself a chance and be patient. Good luck on your move! I love small towns...folks are very friendly, just wait and see!

Just be yourself. Try to find someone in each of your classes who seems friendly and just say hi. Conversations should start from there; if nothing else you can talk about whatever you're doing in class. Also, do you know if there is anyone your age living close to your new house? Maybe you could get to know them a little before school starts. That way you won't go into school not knowing anyone.
Good luck, and just remember that if you ever go away to college, or even when you get your first job you'll be in the same position. Think of this as practice for that!

wow... i was like this 2 years ago... or has it been 3 years... but thats not the point
ok the best way to fit in, is just be friendly, talk to everyone, get to know everyone, dont be nervous or anything, and if u play sports, try out for your school basketball team! or softball... or volleyball or any other sports teams, that is a great way to make new friends. and the first couple of days u probably wont find a partner during gym class or for class projects cuz you dont know anyone, but no worries for that the teach will def help u out
plus every school has those nice girls that would like to offer u a tour around the school!
so just remember, be friendly, be nice, dont be shy around ppl, and after a few weeks u def be having sleepovers with your buddies!!!!

Be nice, have good manners, be yourself, talk to people, show off your style and interests, have fun. It is ok everyone gets nervous with moving in to a new town. Just keep in touch w/ old friends and make new ones, have fun and be ready for all the good things that will come your way. Good luck! And don't worry you will be ok.

When I was growing up my dad traveled a lot from plant to plant.
In result us kids had to change towns and friends quite a bit at least 20 times before I was out of school.
You'll be fine. The kids will try to separate you from each other.Basically thier the ones try'in to give appearances.
My advise be your self and take your time.Try to choose the crowd wisely. The in crowd isn't always the right one.
You say its a small town believe me they have already been waching.so just be yourself and be good to people.
You'll have no problems. What problems you have as a adolescent
will not haunt you for life. We all grow out of it.

I have never moved to a new town but I would know what it feels like.Dont be a major gossiper and spread wild rumors about friends.Try to make friends with the more popular people....try out for cheerleading. If you make the squad you will be friends with jocks and other popular people. You wont be a geek.Just if you mess up your tryouts you might be scarred for life.Anyways, when you start school dont wear geeky clothes and go make friends with the cheerleaders.

consider yourself lucky that you are moving with your family.
u will be able to make new friends if you just chill, be a fun person to talk to. dont be gossipy or catty. just be who you are. im more than 2x your age and i am trying to move to another place. because good jobs are too hard to come by where i live. i am single and have no kids. its gonna be tough to do this. i have no one but myself. my rents and i are going to have a tough time with this.

It will just happen. If you are a social person, just start up a conversation with kids in your class. Or make friends with your locker partner or neighbor.
Everything will be fine.

Go with the flow - be yourself and try to blend in. Good luck at your new school, I am sure you'll find plenty of new friends there.
