If it doesn't hurt, let it be and it will go away.
1] clean with baby wipes after BM
2] use hemorrhoid ointment if painful, otherwise use dab of vaseline
3] eat lots of:
whole grains
veggies
fruit
4] drink lots of water
5] start walking with the baby - one block for a few days, then two, etc.
6] avoid sitting - just for meals [ 30 minutes at a time ]
7] rest on your side [ opposite the hemorrhoid ] mid-morning, and mid-afternoon.

You are far from gross. After popping out five kids I had them every time. They will go away on their own. You are pretty lucky to have just one! You might experience itching and if you do use Tucks wipes. The hospital may have sent some home with you. It's quite common after giving birth. Pushing is what does it.

Congrats - and its not gross - its just apart of it all. Think you need to go see a Dr or a health nurse and get some advice. Left untreated it could get worse.
Its so unfair that women have to put up with all this stuff as well...
Keep smiling

it will go away on it's own, if it doesn't hurt you are lucky! and it's totally normal to get them so it's not gross, it's just a strained blood vessel from too much pressure and it's usually uncomfortable but it will go back to normal on it's own with a little time, it shouldn't take more than a few weeks.

Contact your doctor first, but in some cases you can put the hemorrhoid back in.

I would ask your doctor to be safe. Most of the time they heal eventually, sometimes they need to be corrected with minor surgery. I would ask for sure though, since everyone is different!
Good luck!

It never truly goes away... it just shrinks so it's not even noticable. Tuck's pads will relieve any itching or burning AND make it go away faster.
