There are no gemstones but there is a lot of natural silver on the beaches of Lake Superior about 20-40 miles northeast of White Pine.

Precious stones aren't formed in lakes. You'll find lots of sedimentary rocks, but very few gemstones.

Yeah I live about 2-3 miles from eerie and Im pretty sure the closest thing you'll find to a gemstone in there is maybe something dropped by somebody from grosse isle or on a dead body.

only semi-precious stones you find along the great lakes is "Beach Glass"

Lake Erie has a mineral "rock salt" the stuff you use in the winter to thaw the ice on your sidewalk

I am not aware of any gemstones here in the Michigan area. There is mining for iron ore and copper.

there's superior agates and thompsonite, and some sort of little green things called superior emeralds, but as for real stones, I'd look elsewhere.
I suppose there's good amethyst near Thunder Bay, Canada, and all sorts of Copper minerals near copper harbor...

One rock that comes to mind is Lake Superior Agate.

Diamonds are not a bad bet.
Very unlikely, but they would be among the stones found.
