Whats the most effective way of cleaning a CD? I just burned one off the computer and despite the spotlessness of the disc, it skips. I'm using a maybe...two year old discman, but it hasn't gotten much use in the past year. Is this the problem? Does ithave to do with the burning? Someone please help, I need my music!

If your CD doesn't have any visible scratches or blotches on it, and it still skips, I would probably just re-burn the music on a new disc. It's also possible that your CD player is the cause of the problem, so maybe try playing it on a different player. Well, sorry, but that's all I can think of. GOD Bless...

Rub the CD with a generous amount of toothpaste. Let it dry, about 10 -15 minutes or so. Then run it under warm water while rubbing the toothpaste in little circular motions,Kinda like the same way you wax your car. Run under the water until clear.

if disc is needing cleaned the computer wouldnt be able to burn and you would get an error, if your using the right sofware and settings try burning disc a bit slower, thats the most common cause of bad discs

Well it might be the way your cleaning it. Are you wiping it in circles? Well if you are dont. You should only clean it from the center to the outer rim so as to not scratch it. the same goes w/ a dvd.
