Gotta give the Raiders at least a year to mesh and get some more good players.

No. No. The signing of Culpepper proves that the Raiders are grabbing at straws. All Culpepper could teach Russell (assuming they get Russell signed) is how to be an incompetent QB. Even QB collector Gruden passed on Culpepper.

Culpepper? Seriously? They're taking a step back. The Raiders will be the AFC West...scratch that, NFL doormats for years to come. I don't see them sniffing a winning season for at least the next 4 years. Playoffs? You need to win more than a handful of games per season before even mentioning playoffs.

Nope, not for at least another 5-7 years. Yes they signed Culpepper, but he sucks now. He's useless. And Culpepper as a mentor for Russell? Yea, mentor him how to throw 6 picks in a game. And the Raiders offense sucks. They don't got a run game, their O-Line is pathetic, and their WRs suck.

and this is what happens when you bust the bank getting 1 player.. I really dig Jerry Rice but man.. since he retired the Raiders could get beat by most high school teams.. so.. no they can't make the playoffs.. they need 2 years.. first year get a high profile high talent RB (Darren McFadden).. second year.. get a WR.. go out and get 2 solid WR's in free agency.. and maybe some OL help.. stick with Russell and send Culpepper back to Minnesota to be the Golden Gophers QB coach..

Right now they are in such bad shape it's hard to see them in the playoffs for at least 5 or so years. Culpepper was hoooooorible in his final days as a Viking. In the few healty games as a Dolphin he was just as bad. So no, he or Russell won't lead this team anywhere any time soon.

absolutely NOT!!! The signing of Dante Culpepper proved that. Adding Culpepper proved that the Raiders aren't totally sure of their number one pick they got. When you sing the first pick....you are pretty sure he is a starter right away. Dante wants a starting job. I think this shows lack of respect and confidence of players. Raiders look pretty bad on paper now.
