Well... I would be upset, but I would question what I have done to make people dislike me enough to want to take my girlfriend's children away. Just playing the Devil's Advocate here but have you done anything that would make the social worker think that you are unfit to be around your girlfriend's children? Is there anything that you can do to show your responsible and rational side?
I would work as hard as I could to help her keep her family in tact.

they would only do this if one of you had been convicted of some kind of child abuse, and if they believe the children are in some kind of danger.and it would have to be decided by the courts.

Depends how paranoid and or honest with myself I was. Depends on the circumstances really.
