When I am asked "Who shaved the family cat and painted her pink with a paint-roller?" I am saying the exact same thing that the Attorney General and the White House staff are telling congress "I do not remeber", yet my mom doesn't believe me.

Because, believe or not, people don't assume you to be the total stooge that Gozales is.
I think that any executive who doesn't refresh his memory the night before on questions he knows he's going to be asked should be forced to resign. Forget whether he lied--he just copped to incompetence. But that's just me.

Your mom is a closed-minded-judgmental-democrat who is not interested in getting to the truth, and is merely trying for a media circus.
If your mom was REALLY interested in getting to the truth, she would take your word for it, because, after all, you have no doubt offered her the opportunity for a full explanation, off the record, without transcription.
And if your mom REALLY wanted the truth, she would not even ask you the question, for she would trust that you, her own progeny, would never do such a thing.
Maybe, instead of worrying about the damn cat, your Mom ought to instead be worried about something else she can do something about like ... you know, getting that pie on the table that you asked for weeks ago. She's the cook, but she has a duty to you, and to the entire family, to give you an appropriate diet. You sent her a simple request for a pie, and she is worried about the damn cat. Its your cat anyway, so who cares.
It is about time that people start focusing on the important things in your house, instead of playing the blame game.

1. You must believe that you will never get into trouble because even if you are charged and convicted of perjury the President is just going to pardon you anyway.
2. You have to say it often enough. Remember what Hitler once said, the more often you say something the sooner people will believe it.
3. You have to run the department that goes after corrupt politicans.
4. You have to believe that your mother is gulliable enough to believe you. The AG seems to believe that the American people are that gulliable and we are not really doing anything to change that opinon.

You have to vary it up. And a Ronald Reagan stammer can help lend credibility to your forgetfulness. Try to appear a bit absent minded at times. The key is consistency.
And never, ever, go under oath. Better to take a contempt charge that you can dismiss against yourself than let yourself get cornered into a trumped up perjury charge.
