I am required to submit a manuscript for a novel and have no idea how a manuscript looks like. Please help.

You type it as it would appear in the novel, print it out but don't bind it, give it a title page and there is a manuscript. This will help you:

I would suggest going to bloomsbury.com. They have a whole section devoted to writers and have a lot of good advice and information for those who want to get published. You might also check out the publisher you are wanting to send your manuscript to as they may have a specific way they want their manuscripts.

See if there's a "Manuscript for dummies" book. They simplify everything.
