There's help for people who want to change their lives. Whom you have sex with is not set by destiny.
These programs do work if the person involved truly wants to change their life. Of course nothing will work if there is no desire to change.
People change all the time. Look to Anne Heche for just one example.

Unfortunately there are places where you can send someone for "reparative therapy" or "conversion therapy." These are usually run by religious groups who believe that through prayer and meditation, one can change their sexual orientation. It is a form of behavioral modification and ultimately has been prove not to work by many studies (please see the link to Wikipedia which has detailed links to both sides of the argument).
Groups such as the APA and the American Academy of Pediatrics has published statements indicating that these therapies prove to have little or no effect on a person's sexual orientation. On a more personal front, I have personally known a few people whose parents sent them to these "conversion camps" and have had some traumatic side effects on their lives.
A better question is why are you asking about this? What are your intentions with the knowledge gained from this question?

That is the sickest thing I've ever heard! I had no idea such places existed. Anyways, sexual preferences are most likely something you are born with and therefore not changeable. Studies of homosexual and heterosexual brains seems to suggest that there is a place in the brain that determines your sexual preference, and that this place in the brain are differently constructed in heterosexual and homosexual brains. So unless this camp has an evil brain surgeon, you should just start to accept gay people.

Going by your name i would think you are 45,well then you are one of the people that does not get the picture. You are so far behind in more ways than you think. There is no such place to send your child to turn straight-do you honestly think we want to be like this, with all the struggles we have to face & not to mention people like you who need to be educated in this matter. If your child does come 'out' to you then he/she is in for 1 battle & if you do not change your way of thinking then you will lose them.

You can't ever make a gay person str8 or a str8 person gay.
You can try to force your child to hate himself and his natural inclinations. Maybe then when he grows up, he'll try to have sex with women.
But he'll also be frustrated and lonely and confused.
Then after he has enough and ruins the lives of whatever poor woman he married, and shocked whatever kids he produced and comes out, everybody will wonder what went wrong.
There are all kinds of places who will take your money and promise to make your kid str8, but none of them work and they all should be avoided.
Why not just love your kid the way he/she is?

those 'ex-gay' places have a less than 1% success rate. there is no reason to try to turn your child into something they're not.

No there isn't. Do you know why? Because homosexuals do not chose what their sexual orientation will be. It has something to do with the brain. Besides, why would you want to change your child, you should love them the way they are.

You can send them out for a bit of old time religion where they can get molested by some pervert instead.
Leave your child alone.

There are, the success rates are horrible though (thank goodness).
And really, if they get you to finally admit to you being straight, it's more than likely only going to harm their mental health by repressing those feelings. Until one day, they snap...

Yes, you can drive them away from you based out of hate and resentment and psychological damage you have caused them. Or, you can drive them to an early grave because these ex-gay camps cause a lot of pschycological, emotional, and sexual damage therefore resulting in suicide because it never "worked" for them.

Yes, there are many religious organizations that tout these so-called gay treatment facilities. I personally don't believe someone can change their sexual orientation. They can try to repress someones sexuality, but it's doesn't change them.
