There is no type of lawyer that is more "crooked" than another. Each lawyer is an individual, so they are not labeled as "crooked" by the type of law they practice, but by the way that they perform their job in whatever type of law they practice.

criminal defense- there have to be defense lawyers since everyone is guaranteed defense in a criminal proceeding.

personal injury- when people get injured, and someone is at fault, they need a lawyer to take up their case.

divorce- some people get divorced, and when they do they need a lawyer.

corporate- corporations need lawyers to handle their legal things.

trial- there are always trials, and trial need lawyers

tax- taxes are a part of life, and it takes lawyers to interpret everything.

Some (too many) lawyers do violate their ethical obligations on a regular basis. And some also violate the law if they can get away with it.

I've seen it in defense attorneys, personal injury attorneys -- I've seen attorneys violate the tax laws -- not so much in the corporate end, except for few very famous cases. Much more often on the small scale in other areas.

It does a true disservice to the profession, and hurts the rest of us that are diligient and honest in our practice.

My brother is a lawyer he's worked on each side of the fence in workman's comp. I think there are aggressive lawyers and that's their job, what they get paid the big bucks to do.. defend a client - like every profession there are some worse then others but some have what it takes to succeed - depending on what side of the case you are on.

In my opinion, lawyers are like anyone -- some great ones, some not-so-great ones, etc.

I don't associate one type of practice as more crooked than any other.

Remember, an attorney is bound to represent his client, period.
Is being crooked means getting the best, or doing his best for his client, then., yes, they are all crooked.
