We look back at christians of the past with distain, The christians of the roman empire fed others to the lions, (pretty ironic) the crusades, the genocide of the people of the americas and the inquisition to name a few of the things done in the name of Christ in the past. I'm not blaming this on Jesus, and I know it doesn't compare to what most of chrisiantity does today, but what if in 500 years there is no war or killing how do you think those christians will look back on pro-war christians of today? Or the Christians who deny the rights of homosexuals? Or the Christians (a fringe group but still christians) who march at soldiers funerals and say they deserve it? What do you think? I'm interested in the opinions of Christians and none Christians, just please keep the insults to a minimum.

The problem is with many so-called Christians, usually Protestants, who look down on other denominations of Christianity, usually Catholicism.

These types of people have given Christianity a real bad name, as they have caused quite a division in the faith.

Christians fed others to the lions? You are mistaken, Emperor Constatine banned such things. It was still when the Romans where polytheistic that Christians were thrown to the lions. As for the main question, something along the lines of this "Can you believe that Christians actually let others push them around? They were such a dominate force for centuries, then they let others push them around. What happened?"

Catholicism was and is a very warped form of Christianity. It is the only form that mandates itself as the voice of God. There were always other Christians besides the Catholics they were just not power hungry. Today we have the money hungry churches but you should not confuse the churches with the Christians, they are not always the same people.

No.
You guessing is false.
The Christians got fed to the Lions. You should know that.

I've lived among Christians all my life. I've worked with Christians. They always treated me great.
I have nothing against Christians.

I don't understand why you Democrats Hate Christians so much. You must have been raised that way.

you should speak for yourself
not every one looks at Christianity's past with " disdain"
the reformation period followed the crusades and Christians started towing the line
unlike our bearded friend & and lovers of peace thru murder who still carry on with 7 century tactics
so nice try at the slander but you are misinformed
